POKOTABI / Yaorāna
やおらぁーな
From Thursday teishoku options and Friday tuna bowls to evening sashimi, fried chicken, and hoppy, Yaorāna in Toyocho serves thoughtful food day and night.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
A day-dependent midday menu is one of the main reasons to head over to Yaorāna in Toyocho. Wednesday features curry simmered with vegetables and fruit, Thursday brings a varied lineup of teishoku set meals, and Friday revolves around the tuna-laden maguro-don. Thursdays are particularly well suited to different appetites: options span a generous sashimi set, fragrant dried mackerel (saba bunka-boshi), a combination "Kara-Sho" set pairing fried chicken with ginger pork, and the house namesake Yaorāna set served with a raw egg and natto.
Come nightfall, the space functions as a casual izakaya where reasonably priced drinking snacks pair easily with alcohol. The kitchen covers classic comfort dishes reliably, from freshly fried signature torikara (fried chicken) and assorted sashimi to simmered beef or pork tripe (motsu nikomi), which can also be ordered in a small portion. The drink selection adapts easily to your pace as well, featuring bottled Sapporo Lager (Akaboshi) and Heartland, house coffee-infused shochu, and drinks like Hoppy and Baisu Sour where the volume of shochu can be adjusted to single, double, or triple strength.
On Tuesday evenings, the bar offers a seasonal hassun plate of small bites designed to pair with drinks, making it a reassuring stop when you want an unhurried post-work drink during the week. Seating is arranged around tables, lending itself to solo diners as smoothly as to meals with coworkers or family. PayPay is accepted for payment and seat reservations are welcomed, making it straightforward to plan a visit around your schedule.
